The latest documentary to hit the screens, “Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter,” has stirred up controversy with allegations of sexual assault against Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter. Three women – Melissa Schuman, Shannon Ruth, and Ashley Repp – have come forward with claims of assault during the early 2000s, leading to a legal battle between them and Carter.

In response to the allegations, Carter’s legal team has vehemently denied the claims, calling them “outrageous” and accusing the women of spreading falsehoods. The singer has filed a countersuit for defamation against all three women, stating that they are part of a “gang of conspirators” seeking to tarnish his reputation.

The docuseries, which premiered in the US on Monday, delves into the allegations made by the women, with Ms. Ruth filing a civil sexual battery lawsuit against Carter, alleging rape when she was 17. Carter’s representative has dismissed the allegations as “legally meritless” and “entirely untrue,” while Carter himself declined to participate in the series.

The documentary also explores the strained relationship between Carter and his late brother, Aaron Carter, who publicly supported the women accusing Nick of assault before his untimely death in 2022. The series sheds light on Aaron’s mental health struggles before his passing at the age of 34.

As the legal battle continues to unfold, the public awaits the outcome of the lawsuits and the impact they will have on the Carter brothers’ legacy.
