The vibrant and colorful new Senglao Boutique Hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos is making waves in the hospitality scene with its unique design inspired by the city’s heritage. The hotel, which opened earlier this month, stands out among the traditional French-colonial style hotels in the area with its bold and whimsical interiors created by designer Saran Yen Panya.
Panya, who drew inspiration from the Senglao Movie House, a beloved establishment in Luang Prabang during the 1980s, incorporated vintage furniture, bespoke wallpapers, and neon-lit art pieces into the 31 rooms of the hotel. The lobby features a custom stained-glass window and artwork by British artist David Shrigley, adding a touch of modernity to the nostalgic design.
Guests can enjoy private terraces in some of the rooms, with rates starting at $55 a night. The Senglao Boutique Hotel offers a unique and immersive experience for travelers looking to explore the rich history and culture of Luang Prabang in a vibrant and contemporary setting.
