Maggie Goodlander, a prominent lawyer with an impressive resume working in various branches of government, has thrown her hat into the ring for a congressional seat in New Hampshire’s Second District. The Democratic candidate, who has served in the White House and the Justice Department under President Biden, announced her candidacy on Thursday, aiming to succeed the retiring Representative Ann McLane Kuster.

With a background that includes roles as a White House adviser, deputy assistant attorney general, foreign policy adviser, and Navy Reserve intelligence officer, Goodlander brings a wealth of experience to her campaign. She is also married to Jake Sullivan, President Biden’s national security adviser.

“I’ve served in all three branches of government, and I know how to deliver for New Hampshire,” Goodlander stated confidently in her announcement.

The race for the congressional seat is heating up, with at least two other Democratic candidates, Colin Van Ostern and Becky Whitley, also vying for the nomination. On the Republican side, there are eight candidates in the running, including Lily Tang Williams and Vikram Mansharamani.
