In a modern twist on traditional proposals, Liz Dent and Corey Sunstrom, along with Shohreh Davoodi and Jessie Roynon, opted for a nontraditional approach to popping the question to each other.

Dent and Sunstrom, who had both been married before, wanted to make the decision to get engaged a joint one. They decided to plan a special moment together at a lookout point on Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville, N.C., where they exchanged heartfelt cards and rings before eventually tying the knot in November 2023.

Similarly, Davoodi and Roynon wanted to maintain an element of surprise in their dual proposal. They agreed to propose on the same day in Austin, Texas, but kept the rings they had bought for each other a secret until the special moment arrived.

Both couples found the open communication and shared decision-making process of a nontraditional proposal to be more meaningful and reflective of their equal partnership.

The unique and heartwarming stories of these couples serve as a reminder that love knows no bounds and that there are countless ways to express commitment and devotion to one another.
