The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced on Sunday evening that two bodies have been recovered in rural Texas County in Oklahoma, sparking a grim development in the case of two missing Kansas moms.

Veronica Butler, 27, and Jillian Kelley, 39, were last seen on March 30 heading to pick up children before their car was found abandoned near the Oklahoma-Kansas border, with foul play suspected. The discovery of the bodies comes less than 24 hours after the OSBI announced they had four suspects in custody in connection to the disappearance of the two women.

The suspects, Tad Bert Cullum, 43, Tifany Machel Adams, 54, Cole Earl Twombly, 50, and Cora Twombly, 44, were taken into custody on Saturday. Adams, one of the women arrested, is reportedly the grandmother of Veronica Butler’s children.

All four suspects have been booked into the Texas County Jail on charges including first-degree murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit murder. The OSBI has not confirmed if the recovered bodies are related to the missing women.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the identities of the bodies and the cause and manner of death. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
