Former reality star Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard shared a heartbreaking revelation about their family on Saturday. The couple announced the stillbirth of their first daughter, Isla Marie Dillard, in a shared post on Instagram.
Jill and Derick, who are already parents to three boys, revealed that Jill was 4 months pregnant with Isla when they found out that their baby had died in utero. The couple had not publicly shared that they were expecting, making the news even more shocking for their followers.
“From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world,” they wrote in their post. “We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie.”
This isn’t the first time the couple has been open about their fertility challenges. In October 2021, they shared that they had miscarried shortly after revealing the news of their pregnancy with their two older boys. Despite the heartbreak, the couple welcomed their rainbow baby, Fredrick, in July 2022.
Jill Duggar and her family rose to fame in 2008 with the reality series “19 Kids and Counting,” which followed her parents, Michelle and Bob Duggar, and their large family. The show was canceled in 2015, but a spinoff, “Counting On,” premiered later that year.
The Duggar family has faced scandal over the years, particularly involving Jill’s brother, Josh, who is currently in prison for possession of child pornography. In their book, “Counting the Cost,” released in 2023, Jill and Derick detailed the struggles they faced as members of the famous family.
As the couple continues to grieve the loss of their daughter, fans and followers have been sending their condolences and support to Jill and Derick during this difficult time.
