Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell Celebrate 41 Years Together with a Shared Love for Family
After four decades together, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell continue to defy the odds in Hollywood with their enduring relationship. The couple, who started dating in 1983, recently opened up about the secret to their long-lasting love on an upcoming episode of SiriusXM’s “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.”
In a clip shared with People, Hawn revealed that despite their differences, the one thing that keeps them together is their shared love for their family. “We don’t agree on everything,” Hawn said. “His politics are different than mine. You know, there’s all these things that could divide you. But the one thing that we have, the greatest thing in God’s world, is our family.”
Hawn went on to explain that Russell’s focus on their children was what initially attracted her to him. “He is a family man,” she said. “I can’t explain it, but he was the one for me. It wasn’t just because he was sexy and handsome and all of those things you get turned on by; it was because he matched my devotion to children to be number one.”
The couple shares a blended family, with Hawn having two children from her previous marriage and Russell having one son from his previous marriage. Together, they welcomed a son, Wyatt Russell.
Despite never tying the knot, Hawn and Russell have found a way to make their relationship work. Hawn recently spoke about the pitfalls of marriage on Dax Shepard’s podcast, “Armchair Expert,” saying, “People fuse, and fusion is very bad. Because once you start losing yourself, engaged in someone else’s everything, become too dependent … then there’s a loss of respect, there’s expectation.”
As they celebrate their 41st Valentine’s Day together, Hawn and Russell continue to prove that love and family are the keys to a successful relationship in Hollywood.
