Rumors of King Charles III’s Death Put to Rest as He Hosts Fashion Show at Sandringham Estate
Speculation about the death of King Charles III has been swirling following his recent cancer diagnosis and the surgery of Catherine, Princess of Wales. However, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the king is alive and well, and he is even hosting a fashion show at the royal family’s private property in Norfolk County, England.
On Saturday, an exhibition titled “Royal Garden Waste to Fashion’s Future” will open at Sandringham Estate, featuring garments created in collaboration with designers Vin Cara and Omi Ong, known as Vin + Omi. The designers used detritus from gardens at Sandringham and Highgrove House, Charles’s private residence, to create the clothing.
Charles has been working with Vin + Omi since 2018 when he suggested using discarded nettle from Highgrove for a collection shown in London. The designers have since developed a close relationship with gardeners at the royal estates, with Charles actively involved in the partnership.
According to Mr. Cara, Charles is constantly suggesting new projects and ideas, providing them with free rein to experiment with waste materials from his estates. The “Royal Garden Waste” exhibition will showcase innovative pieces made from willow cellulose, oak tree galls, butterbur, and other natural materials sourced from the royal properties.
In other fashion news, designer Isaac Mizrahi is making a comeback to his first love, clothing. After pursuing various other interests, including stand-up comedy and podcasting, Mizrahi has launched a new collection featuring gingham jackets, shirt dresses, trousers, and accessories with a midcentury influence.
The collection, priced from $50 to $150, is described as more contemporary and youthful, yet timeless in its quality. Mizrahi drew inspiration from iconic women like Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Mary Tyler Moore, aiming to create classic pieces that transcend trends.
Both King Charles III and Isaac Mizrahi are proving that age is just a number when it comes to creativity and innovation in the world of fashion.
