Former Slade frontman Noddy Holder is gearing up to hit the road again in the new year, following a battle with cancer that has changed him as a performer. Holder, who was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in 2018 and given a grim prognosis, has since fought back with new chemotherapy treatments and is now cancer-free.

In a recent interview with BBC WM, Holder revealed that his upcoming shows will be a mix of songs and anecdotes, reflecting his new perspective on life after facing such a serious health scare. Despite being “sort of semi-retired now,” Holder is eager to connect with audiences through his music and stories.

While originally planning to tour with Tom Seals’s band in 2022, the dates have been pushed back to 2025 due to scheduling conflicts. However, Holder remains optimistic about the future and is looking forward to sharing the stage with Seals once again.

In the meantime, Holder has been enjoying some downtime, including meet-ups with former Slade guitarist Dave Hill in Wolverhampton. The two have put their past differences aside and are focusing on cherishing their friendship and shared experiences.

As Holder continues to recover and embrace his new lease on life, fans can expect to see a reinvigorated performer take the stage once again, ready to entertain with his iconic hits and captivating stories.
