The iconic Casbah Coffee Club, where The Beatles played some of their earliest gigs, has been transformed into a five-apartment Airbnb, offering fans a chance to stay in the historic venue. The club, opened in 1959 by Pete Best’s mother, Mona Best, saw numerous performances by The Beatles and John Lennon’s first band, the Quarrymen.
The Grade II listed building in West Derby, Liverpool, now features suites named after John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe, and Pete Best. Each room is decorated with a Beatles theme, including photos, posters, and guitars on the walls.
Pete Best, who lived in the house as a teenager and performed with the band, expressed his excitement about the opening of the guest accommodation, calling it a “lasting tribute” to The Beatles and his mother’s dream. The conversion of the house into an Airbnb was a joint effort by Best and his brother Roag, son of Beatles road manager Neil Aspinall.
The basement of the club has been preserved, with drum kits on display and a message scratched into the ceiling above the stage area. While guests will not be able to stay in a suite named after Ringo Starr, Roag Best clarified that it was not due to any animosity, but rather a desire to stay true to the original lineup of the band that performed at the club.
Overall, the transformation of the Casbah Coffee Club into guest accommodation offers Beatles fans a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the history of the legendary band and follow in the footsteps of their idols.
