Former federal prosecutor in Minneapolis criticizes Gov. Tim Walz’s record, calls him “unfit” for vice president

MINNEAPOLIS – A former federal prosecutor in Minneapolis, Joe Teirab, who prosecuted George Floyd rioters, has spoken out against Gov. Tim Walz’s record on various issues, including his handling of the 2020 riots and fraud in Minnesota. Teirab told Fox News Digital that Walz’s actions make him “unfit” for a promotion to vice president of the United States.

Teirab, who is also the GOP nominee in Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District, expressed concerns about Walz’s response to the devastating 2020 riots that caused widespread destruction and millions of dollars in damage. He criticized Walz for not taking action during the riots and allowing the city to burn while he was prosecuting criminals involved in the violence.

The former federal prosecutor also highlighted Walz’s failure to crack down on fraud in Minnesota, citing a $250 million COVID-19 fraud scandal that occurred under the governor’s watch. Teirab emphasized the importance of rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse, and criticized Walz for his handling of the Feeding Our Future case, where fraudsters stole over $250 million in taxpayer money.

Teirab rejected the notion that Walz is a “moderate” and warned against the governor’s potential promotion to vice president. He urged voters to consider Walz’s record and questioned his ability to lead the country effectively.

Walz is facing renewed scrutiny for the fraud scandal and his response to the 2020 riots. Teirab’s comments come as he prepares to challenge Democratic Rep. Angie Craig in MN-02 this November. Teirab highlighted the economy and rising prices as key issues for voters in his district, criticizing Craig for supporting what he called “terrible Bidenomics.”

The Harris-Walz campaign did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment. Teirab’s concerns about Walz’s record and suitability for higher office underscore the contentious nature of the upcoming election in Minnesota.
