RFK Jr confesses to disposing of bear carcass in Central Park, New York

Independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr has shocked the nation with a bizarre confession in a video posted on social media. In the clip, he admits to dumping a dead bear cub in New York City’s Central Park back in 2014.

The video, shared on his X account, shows Mr Kennedy with controversial comedian Roseanne Barr as he recounts the strange circumstances that led to the incident that left New Yorkers puzzled a decade ago. He explains that a woman had accidentally hit and killed the bear with her car, and he decided to take the animal with him with the intention of skinning it and harvesting its meat.

It seems that Mr Kennedy shared this anecdote preemptively, as he believed that The New Yorker magazine was planning to publish a story about the incident. However, both the Kennedy campaign and The New Yorker have remained silent on the matter.

In the video, Mr Kennedy describes how he was on his way to go falconing near Goshen, New York, when the bear was killed. He had planned to skin the bear and store the meat in his refrigerator, as New York state allows individuals to obtain a bear tag for roadkill bears. However, he did not follow the proper protocol of notifying law enforcement or the Department of Environmental Conservation.

Instead of disposing of the bear properly, Mr Kennedy continued with his plans for the day, which included a dinner reservation at a steakhouse in New York City. When he realized he couldn’t leave the bear in his car, he came up with the idea to stage a bike accident with the bear carcass in Central Park, with the help of some intoxicated companions.

The discovery of the bear’s body in Central Park had sparked a mystery in 2014, with authorities investigating the circumstances of its death. The New York Police Department and the Department of Environmental Conservation have not commented on Mr Kennedy’s recent confession.

As Mr Kennedy’s 2024 presidential campaign faces challenges, including dwindling support in polls and fundraising struggles, this bizarre revelation may further impact his political aspirations. Despite speculation that he may drop out of the race, Mr Kennedy has maintained that he will continue his campaign for the presidency.
