The U.S. men’s national soccer team faced a tough defeat in their Paris Olympics opener against France. The French team dominated the match, securing a 3-0 victory with goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Michael Olise, and Loic Bade.

Despite a strong defensive effort from the Americans in the first 60 minutes, Lacazette broke the scoreless tie with a long-range goal. Olise and Bade followed with goals of their own, sealing the win for France.

Although American player Griffin Yow thought he had a late goal, it was ruled offside. Djordie Mihailovic also had a near-goal early in the match, hitting the crossbar.
