Arike Ogunbowale, Caitlin Clark, and Angel Reese Make History at WNBA All-Star Game

In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Team WNBA made history by defeating the U.S. women’s Olympic basketball team with a final score of 117-109. Arike Ogunbowale, Caitlin Clark, and Angel Reese were the standout players of the game, setting new records and showcasing their incredible talent on the court.

Ogunbowale, known for her sharpshooting skills with the Dallas Wings, stole the show by scoring a record-breaking 34 points in the All-Star Game. All of her points came in the second half, with a jaw-dropping 21 points in the third quarter alone. Her performance was so impressive that she was named the All-Star Game MVP for the second time.

Clark, a rookie with the Indiana Fever, also made history by setting a new record for most assists by a rookie in the All-Star Game. She finished the game with 10 assists, surpassing the previous record of eight set in 2014. Clark was just one assist away from tying the single-game record held by Sue Bird.

Reese, another rookie standout, had a solid performance as well, recording a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. She became the first rookie to achieve a double-double in the All-Star Game, showcasing her versatility and skill on the court.

The game provided a glimpse of the future of the WNBA, with Clark and Reese showing off their potential as stars of the league for years to come. Team USA, on the other hand, received a wake-up call as they prepare for their Olympics run in Paris.

Despite the loss, Team USA’s Breanna Stewart led the way with 31 points and 10 rebounds, while A’ja Wilson contributed 22 points and six rebounds. Brittney Griner added 10 points and seven rebounds to the team’s effort.
