Rupert Murdoch, the media mogul who retired from the boards of Fox and News Corporation last year, tied the knot with his fifth bride, Elena Zhukova, in a picturesque ceremony at his Tuscan-style vineyard estate in the hills of Bel Air, Los Angeles.
The 93-year-old Murdoch and his 67-year-old bride exchanged vows under blue skies, with Ms. Zhukova looking radiant in an ankle-length, off-the-shoulder white dress designed by Emilia Wickstead. Notable guests at the ceremony included Robert K. Kraft, the owner of the New England Patriots, and Robert Thomson, the chief executive of News Corp.
The couple’s relationship reportedly blossomed after being introduced by Murdoch’s third wife, Wendi Deng. Ms. Zhukova, a retired molecular biologist who immigrated to the United States from Moscow in 1991, was previously married to billionaire energy investor Alexander Zhukov.
Details about the couple’s courtship have been kept private, but it was reported that they spent time vacationing together on a yacht once owned by Aristotle Onassis before announcing their engagement in March.
This marks Murdoch’s fifth marriage, following a brief engagement to Ann Lesley Smith last year. Ms. Zhukova, on the other hand, was previously married to Alexander Zhukov, with whom she shares a daughter, Dasha Zhukova.
Murdoch’s vast media empire, which includes outlets like The Wall Street Journal and Fox News, has earned him a net worth of nearly $20 billion. The wedding took place at Moraga, the estate where Murdoch finalized a major deal to sell parts of Fox to Disney in 2019.
Despite his retirement, Murdoch remains engaged with news and ideas, stating in a letter to employees that while his roles may change, his passion for media will endure.
