American actor Johnny Wactor tragically lost his life in a senseless act of violence in Los Angeles over the weekend. The 37-year-old, known for his role in General Hospital, was shot dead by a thief who was attempting to steal a part from his car.
Wactor’s agent, David Shaul, described him as an “outstanding human being” who would go above and beyond to help others. His mother, Scarlett, recounted the heartbreaking moment when her son was shot while trying to figure out why his car was being tampered with.
The incident took place in downtown LA, and despite the best efforts of authorities, no arrests have been made yet. Wactor’s brother, Grant, remembered him as a charismatic and genuine person who lived life on his own terms.
Producers at General Hospital paid tribute to Wactor, calling him “truly one of a kind” and a pleasure to work with. In addition to his role on the soap opera, Wactor had appeared in other TV shows such as Siberia and Westworld.
